The Anti-Egoist Perspective in Business Ethics and its Anti-Business Manifestations

Abstract This article identifies the moral premises of contemporary business ethics. After analyzing thirty ethics texts, shows that many ethicists hold conventional view being is altruistic. altruistic perspective logically implies a negative evaluation self-interest and profit motive, business. As result, prevailing attitude in mainstream without restraints businesspeople are inclined to lie, steal, cheat, not create earn wealth through honest production voluntary trade. Therefore, central concern current curb morally, empower them their self-interested desire make money. In final analysis, how anti-egoist assumptions manifest themselves prejudice against business, leading biased, unfair, misleading account world.
